A Mereta woman died Sunday morning when the SUV she was driving collided with a tractor trailer.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said in a preliminary crash report that Angela Kay Hollon, 46, of Mereta, was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of FM 1692. A 25-year-old motorist was killed when her car slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer at a Moreno Valley intersection, authorities said Friday.

State police say a Chevy Trail Blazer was traveling south when the driver, William Brown, lost control around a turn.

According to police, a dump truck and sedan collided and crashed into a gas pump at a nearby Shell station.

The driver of the dump truck walked away with moderate, non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, two men inside the passenger car died as a result of the crash. In an update, police identified the men as 39-year-old Tony Orlando Lopez from Weslaco and 25-year-old Jose Antonio Carbajal of Sullivan City, who was the driver.

Samantha Anders, 16, of Dayton, was riding in the front passenger seat of a minivan that was being driven by 39-year-old Anna Irwin, OSHP Lebanon Post confirmed.

The minivan was going northbound on Clarksville Road when it drove through a stop sign at the intersection of State Route 73, troopers said.

A 29-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle Morgan County wreck on Friday morning.
