In Memory of Darleen Halwick (January 28, 2023)

A 63-year-old Hurley woman died after her car hit the back of a tractor-trailer late Saturday night on the Thruway, State Police said.

The driver of the truck, a 43-year-old man from Kearney, N.J., told investigators he believed the impact was a flat tire, troopers said. He pulled to the shoulder and discovered a Toyota Avalon lodged under the rear of the truck, State Police said. The vehicle was severely damaged.

In Memory of Gerald & Tara Weaver (January 27, 2023)

Officials say a westbound semi-truck driver lost control and started drifting toward the north side of the highway. Trying to correct, the driver steered south but crossed the centerline striking an eastbound Toyota SUV head-on.

Two people in the Toyota SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. Police identified the victims as Gerald Weaver, 47, and Tara Weaver, 46, both from Escanaba. 2 killed in head-on crash with semi-truck in Upper Peninsula

In Memory of Ricky Ronald Jones (January 26, 2023)

Troopers said a pickup truck and a tractor trailer collided head-on.

The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene while the driver of the tractor trailer was not hurt.

The Cherokee County Coroner identified the victim as Ricky Ronald Jones. Driver dies in head-on crash on U.S. 221 in Cherokee Co.

In Memory of Stephen Gharabegian (January 23, 2023)

According to officials, a Mercedes-Benz was traveling in front of a tractor-trailer near Exit 69 when the driver lost control of their car. The tractor-trailer then crashed into the Mercendes-Benz on the driver’s side in the right lane.

Police said the Mercedes-Benz then became stuck underneath the trailer portion of the truck. The driver of the tractor-trailer sustained no injuries.

The driver of the Mercendes-Benz was transported to Hartford Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead at the hospital, police said. The driver was identified as Stephen Gharabegian, 59, of Lexington, Massachusetts. Man dies in tractor-trailer crash on I-84 in Tolland

In Memory of Bradley Keyes (January 24, 2023)

Police reports show a 66-year-old Blackfoot man was traveling southbound on I-15 in a 2015 Ford F150 pickup. For an unknown reason, the pickup driver went into the median, crossed into the northbound lanes, and collided with a Peterbilt semi traveling northbound. . .

The driver of the pickup succumbed to his injuries at the crash scene. Bannock Coroner Torey Danner identified the man as Bradley Keyes.

In Memory of Chuck Schauer (January 19, 2020)

The funeral for Officer Charles Schauer was held Saturday morning in River Forest.

The 33-year-old was killed when the SUV he was riding in slammed into the back of a box truck on I-55 near Plainfield. The box truck had been involved in another crash shortly before the fatal incident. Funeral held for off-duty Berwyn police officer killed in I-55 crash

Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety say an 8-year-old child has died in a crash. . .

Officials say the driver of the pickup, 35-year-old Rhett Green of Lubbock, did not realize the semi was stopped. He tried to veer to the left to avoid crashing into the back of the semi, but was unable to avoid the collision. The front right side of the pickup crashed into the left rear of the semi. 8-year-old child killed in crash on FM 41

In Memory of Alyeshia Walton & Shavon McDavid (March 4, 2022)

UPDATE: The Fulton County Medical Examiner has identified the three victims in the crash as 26-year-old Mercedes Ammamoo of Austell, 29-year-old Alyeshia Walton of Norcross and 36-year-old Shavon McDavid of Houston, Texas. . .

Atlanta Police said three people were killed in the wreck after a white Ford Escape ran into the back of a tractor trailer. The ambulance arriving on scene to help the victims also was hit from the rear.

Atlanta Fire responded to reports of the accident in the area around 4 a.m., according to the agency. Firefighters said they arrived, blocked the road, and extricated the three victims from a white Ford Escape who had been killed. Victims identified in I-85 wreck that killed three people

In Memory of Kayla Finch (January 17, 2023)

34-year-old Kayla Finch, of Wolcott, lost control of her car while she was traveling south on State Route 414 in the town of Galen. Police say she crossed over into the northbound lane and struck a tractor-trailer. The impact sent both vehicles off the road and caused the tractor-trailer to overturn. In Memory of Ilene Viers (January 13, 2023)

Local woman, Ilene Viers, has died following a head-on collision on Division Street Friday afternoon. . .

Sergeant Shane Semones with the Wood County Crash Team was at the scene and said Viers’ SUV was heading North when she crossed over the center line and hit the tractor-trailer head on.

Sgt. Semones says the first responders had to cut Viers out of the SUV. Update: Driver in Friday’s fatal head-on crash identified
