Note: In order to raise awareness and preserve the memories of underride victims — precious ones gone too soon — I have been writing memorial posts on what appear to me to be underride crashes. I am not a crash reconstructionist, and I do not have all the facts on these crashes; but underride should be investigated as a potential factor in truck crash injuries and deaths.

  1. Saw the end of the documentary on PBS tonight. When I heard the definition of the term underride crash, I thought of this accident from 2018 and googled to find it. It was clearly in this category. It occurred in the intersection of Chester Avenue and E. 105th Street in Cleveland. I live in an apartment building a half block away, and heard the impact.

The link to the news article above is broken. The following other links also describe the accident.

    1. Thank you for watching the PBS documentary — https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/documentary/americas-dangerous-trucks/. I appreciate you taking the time to bring this to my attention and provide me with working links. It’s now updated. I’m so busy trying to honor the memory of all victims of underride that I don’t have the time to go back and look at every old post. Ending this problem is a team effort. Thanks for joining TEAM Underride! I hope that you sign and share the petition.
