A crash report from the highway patrol said the driver of a 2010 Chevy Cobalt crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and struck a tractor-trailer head-on. According to the report, an initial investigation revealed that the passenger car traveled westbound and crossed over in the eastbound lane, striking the rear axles of a trailer.

A 17-year-old Boyd Buchanan student died after rear-ending a logging truck on Highway 111 Wednesday, according to a release from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 4 a.m. Sunday when a 2007 Ford Edge went left of center while traveling south on South Carolina Highway 121. The Edge crashed into a tractor trailer head-on.

The driver of the Edge was wearing a seat belt and died at the scene, authorities reported.
