In Memory of Robert Lee (January 22, 2021)

The Missouri Highway Patrol said Robert E. Lee died at the scene of the wreck. . .

Lee was driving north in a 1993 Geo Prizm. His car traveled into the oncoming lanes and went under the trailer of a southbound tractor-trailer. Kinloch man dies when his car careens into tractor-trailer

Because the bottom of a truck is higher than the bumper of passenger vehicles, when there is a collision the smaller vehicle easily slides under the truck and the first point of impact is the windshield. In Memory of Richard Allen (January 21, 2021)

Authorities pronounced Belle Glade-area resident Richard Allen dead at the scene, the intersection of State Road 80 and Hatton Highway.

A Freightliner truck was northbound on Hatton just before 6 a.m. and started to cross State Road 80 on a flashing red light, PBSO said.

It drove into the path of Allen’s 2017 Chevrolet Impala, PBSO said. The vehicles collided and the Impala became stuck beneath the trailer.

A third vehicle, a Toyota Tacoma SUV, hit the rear of Allen’s car. Man, 56, dies after car, tractor-trailer crash near Belle Glade

In Memory of Devin Sproles (January 20, 2021)

Devin M. Sproles, 31, was killed in the crash near mile marker 10 between exits 4 and 8.

Troopers said Sproles was driving a utility van that rear-ended a tractor-trailer. Sproles was pronounced dead at the scene. Tennessee Highway Patrol investigating deadly crash involving tractor-trailer on I-24

In Memory of Rita Faye Thomas (January 15, 2021)

Authorities have released the name of a woman who was killed when her vehicle slammed into a parked tractor-trailer on Interstate 59/20 Friday afternoon in Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the woman as Rita Faye Thomas. . .

Almost a third of the vehicle was crushed under the truck’s trailer.

Thomas and a passenger were trapped inside. Midfield and Fairfield firefighters responded to the scene as did police and Alabama State Troopers. In Memory of Tyler Dwyer (January 14, 2021)

According to Maine State Police, the fatal accident happened on Route 1 in Topsfield around 9:15 a.m. when a tractor-trailer traveling north and a pick-up truck traveling south collided in the northbound lane. . .

Tyler Dwyer, 30, of Houlton was driving the 2009 Ford pick-up truck, owned by Bushwacker and Sons Logging incorporated out of Cary.

In Memory of Carlos Chavez (January 12, 2021)

According to a preliminary investigation, the driver of a black 2005 Ford E-350 was traveling east on US Route 50 when, for unknown reasons, left the travel portion of the road, continued onto the slow shoulder and struck the rear of a 2000 Freightliner tractor-trailer that was parked at that location.

The driver of the Ford, 47-year-old Carlos Chavez, of Clinton, was declared deceased at the scene by Prince George’s County EMS personnel. Maryland State Police investigating fatal two-vehicle crash in Prince George’s County

In Memory of Geoffrey Gattis & Elizabeth Gattis (January 12, 2021)

Troopers say a tractor-trailer and a Lexus, driven by 68-year-old Geoffrey Gattis with his wife, 68-year-old Elizabeth Gattis, in the passenger seat, slowed down in the northbound lane of the highway when another tractor-trailer, driven by a 38-year-old South Portland man, stuck them from behind.

The force of the impact pushed the car into the back of the first tractor-trailer, crushing the smaller vehicle. The couple died at the scene. Two killed in Maine Turnpike crash after police chase caused slow traffic

In Memory of Mardochena Louis (January 1, 2021)

A Spring Valley woman was killed on I-87 in Chestnut Ridge early Friday when the car she was driving struck the back of a tractor trailer that had stopped for a disabled vehicle, New York state police say.

Mardochena Louis, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 2:30 a.m. crash in the southbound lanes of I-87. A passenger in the 2015 Mercedes Benz, Quinten T Jackson 25, of Spring Valley, was taken to Westchester Medical Center where he is listed in serious but stable condition. In Memory of Aaron Donini (December 29, 2020)

A 42-year-old man has died from his injuries after he rear-ended a semi truck on I-70 east Tuesday afternoon, state troopers said.

Aaron Donini, of Wheelersburg, Ohio was identified as state troopers as the victim of the crash.

Troopers said a separate rollover crash had occurred in the median of I-70 near U.S. 35 around 3 p.m. Tuesday and traffic was slowing at the crash site. In Memory of Matthew Thornton (December 29, 2020)

. . . a 16-year-old died Monday in a head-on collision.

Matthew Eric Thornton, of Ruffin, was killed in the crash on Highway 17 Alternate near Clubhouse Road, approximately 10 miles south of Summerville, Coroner Paul Brouthers said.

The crash happened at 8:42 a.m. when a 1995 Ford Thunderbird driven by Thornton going southbound crossed the center line and struck a dump truck going northbound head-on, Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell said. Coroner identifies teen killed in crash with dump truck
